I'm looking to find a place in KY to hunt ML for a week or OH shotgun season for a week this fall. Just access is all I'll fend for myself for the rest. If you want to do a background check on me just search my name here and you will pretty much find out what kind of guy I am. Open to ideas as well . Thanks for reading and pm's may be a better idea here.

Why dont try Wayne National Forest in Southern ohio. Huge area , good access. Very few hunters for public ground. Its big timber hunting not agriculteral.

. . . or the Big South Fork region in KY. There are lots of public land that is largely un-hunted.

If you're looking for a specific spot, try the old Diamond Shamrock Mine near Eagle Creek.

. . .Or Peter's Mountain, South of the Bell Farm Horse Camp.

. . . or below the cliffs, NE of Flat Rock.

Go early and make a trip to the Ranger's station in Stearns. They'll give you lots of ideas on where to hunt.

Stay at the Parkland. Eat at the Burger Hut. A good time will be had by all.

For Ohio, I'd go to McConnellsville Ohio and visit the AEP office. There is free camping, hunting and fishing on the AEP lands-- tens of thousands of acres of reclaimed strip mines loaded with deer and turkey.

Try the Daniel Boone natl forest around London and Corbin Ky plenty of public access plus good camping areas at Bee Rock or around Laurel Lake. London and Corbin also have several reasonable motel chains and are minutes from public access down hwy 192

All good tips.
Ohio also has some good hunting on several state parks. Zaleski and Dean are 2 that I used to hunt a lot.

Bringing this back up as a good friend and I have committed to go to OH this year for gun season. How crazy is the Woodbury with people? Just asking. I am also looking at all of the others still and trying to work it all out . Making phone calls tomorrow. We would also be interested in getting in on a lease if anyone knows any openings.

Opening day in Ohio is always crowded though I'm not familiar with that specific location. After opening day things should be much less busy.
