So, uhh.....standard calibers and ping-pong balls would work? Why all the extra noise, flames and expense then?

Don't notice the noise and flames killin or from the bench for that matter. Don't hunt much at night either. expense is perty moot this day and age ....

I use to have a Vanguard in .257 Weatherby. It was fun but almost all my hunting is under 150 yards so it made no sense. I sent it down the road and have never bought another Weatherby. I know I could get a Vanguard in a standard chambering but I prefer Remington 700's and Winchester 70's in those.

Ya I could "get by" with lotsa stuff, 1000 sf house vs a 3200 sf house, a V 6 rather than a V8, working at wal mart vs the state, ugly women vs a hotty , tent vs a camp trailer, well you savvy....

Well, with the ballistic coefficients of most ping-pong balls, you have to drive them REAL fast to be effective...but then you might have to worry about over penetration because they won't have time to expand
