I came across a featherweight in 7-08 for sale this weekend.
Excellent condition. Seller says less than 20 rounds shot.
Just a basic Leupold VX I or something of the sort.
I am not a Winchester fan. Never really owned and shot a winchester bolt rifle so I am not very familiar with these rifles.
What's this thing worth?

I have Model 70 30-06 that I really like. It's the Extreme Weather Edition so I paid a bit for it, $900 new at Bass Pro. I'm actually interested in picking up 7mm-08 backpacking rifle. How much are they asking?
If it was easy, everybody would do it.

I was following a classic on Gunbroker this weekend, was sitting in price range(775.00) until the last hour when it shot up to a K, had 2-7 Varix II on it. Pass.

How much are they asking? They were asking $1,100 which I felt was pretty hefty. Figure the scope is worth ~$200-$250.

That seems steep unless it was a super grade or soemthing. VX1 would add 150.00

The scope doesn't add $200-250 to the value. And it sure isn't a $850-900 rifle anyhow. Heck, you can buy them new for that kind of money. If I was the one trying to make a deal, my offer for that rifle would top out around $800 and probably more like $750 and it would need to be perfect...and not a FN made gun. But that's me. YMMV Good luck.

I would think that is high. I just looked at one locally and it was used but not a mark on it. Claw extractor version. Had the old Burris 3 x 9 and that was under 800 I believe
Still trying to be the Man my dogs think I am

Unless of coarse you just have to have it!

Unless of coarse you just have to have it! I absolutely have no need for it. I have a perfectly good Tikka 7-08 that shoots very well. I was just trying to educate myself. Now, had I learned I was wrong and the rifle was underpriced, I dang sure would've bought it with the idea of turning it for a little coin.
