Hey Fellas,
I have a friend who's son borrows my Grendel for youth season. His family really can't afford one and he is in love with mine. My question is, I would like to buy him one and surprise him. I really don't want to spend the same kind of money I have wrapped up in mine but I would like a decent gun. I have seen Spikes Tactical on GB for under $800 and a few other in the same price range. I have NO experience in any Grendels besides the Alexander Arms I own. Any input would be great! Just not sure if I should piece one together or buy a complete rifle. If anyone has one available feel free to PM me also. Sorry for the long post. I also would like to stay with the Grendel or 260 as I reload for both Thanks Rob

I'd suggest buying a complete rifle.
You can certainly put one together for less money but with a new, commercial rifle he'll have a warranty of some sort and you won't have whatever liability that goes with putting one together.

What's your budget and do you want to build it or complete rifle? Then I can give you some suggestions.

I'm not sure about the quality, but here are complete uppers for $539 http://www.radicalfirearms.com/category-s/1856.htm I built my own, but it was still ~$900 just in parts.
