The Al-Nusrah front,Al-Qaida, among others. ISIS is mostly fighting Assad's opposition but eventually they will fight Assad directly.

Please allow me sum this up.

McStain, the war-mongering POS, is neck-deep in all of this, too. ALL of D.C. is guilty of war-mongering, I have yet to hear of one congresscritter call for disengagement from the ME.

They're all one big happy family.

The U.S. propaganda machine is telling the people that there's several elements fighting against the Assad government in order to cloudy the waters and keep the people from understanding that the U.S. government is funding Islamic radicals to fight the Assad government.

Essentially, Putin has pulled back the curtain by going after the faction that is fighting the Assad government and exposed the fact that the U.S. foreign policy crazies are supporting Islamic crazies in the fight against the Syrian government.

The U.S. government has lots of egg on it's face (courtesy of Putin) and its propaganda machine is having to work overtime in an attempt to conceal what's really been going on from the American people.

The rest of the world has understood for a long time, however.

The U.S. government's actions in the Middle East weren't orchestrated by Obama.

Obama has simply been going along to get along with the neocons of the Bush 43 administration.

Lately, Obama has begun to realize that he's going to be the fall guy for whatever transpires there.

Hence,..his grey hair.

Marco Rubio laid what the Russians are doing during the last debate. He was largely ignored.

My post was a reflection what Russia's current primary goal is in the region, ie propping up Assad and didn't really comment on the sheer stupidity of American Foreign policy in the region..

Actually, I think Putin is propping up stability. Iraq and Libya are representative of what happens to a failed state in the Middle East. The crazies who control U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East want Syria to become another Iraq.

This is on the money. There is no real tradition of democracy in the ME. Without a strong dictator in place, they quickly devolve back to their tribal identities and the kind of free for all's we have been seeing. It almost seems like the Obama administration isn't even that interested in the situation or maybe its that they are incredibly incompetent. Putin having a strategic presence in the region has long term strategic consequences. The Russians have a big advantage in this type of warfare. Likely minimal rules of engagement and no lawyers approving tactical targeting.

They're pawns.

Regime change in Syria looks possible, and would surely be more likely with our aid and encouragement, and without our saying that nation’s hereditary thug ruler, Bashar al-Assad, is a “reformer.” And if at some point the House of Saud totters—well, goodbye to them too, and good riddance.

I'll say this for Putin. He knows how to rub the old nose in it.

Today he asked the American government for intelligence on ISIS.

Of course,..the American government declined.

The biggest "news" out of this one-in-an-endless-string-of-Zero's-debacles is the establishment of a Russian operating base in the Middle East with the agreement of at least one of the big players (Iran).

This will change the balance of power there immensely into the future.

I'm starting to think that Obama is going to get us all killed sooner or later.

In Mr. Braman, a Republican with a strong distaste for wasteful government spending, an ardent commitment to Israel and a seemingly limitless bank account, Mr. Rubio found a devoted sponsor.

Like I've often said, the political stuff gets very predictable after a few years.
