Got a bad batch of Win brass recently. Went to Winchesters site and made a claim. Haven't heard anything back in over 10 days.

Any experience? Ever get anything out of them? I have about five 223 cases that I'm going to have to junk because of excessive denting in the case wall, straight out of the package.

Tried it with a bunch of 243, 257 and 308 brass that had the extractor grooves not cut deep enough. The cases would not fit into any shellholders. I emailed and called, they could have cared less. Those were the last batches of Win brass I will ever buy.

Several years ago, I sent in some Winchester 264 brass that had split longitudinally at the shoulder. They sent me two bags of new brass.

UPDATE:

Just got a call from Win. They are sending a prepaid UPS label to send the defective brass back for inspection. They said I'll most likely get a check to cover the amount of a new bag of brass.

Be honest, but keep on them when you find flaws. Maybe their quality control will be more in tune with our expectations down the road. I'll update again at a later date.

The "most consistently worst" brass I've seen has been R-P 7mm Mauser which had had rumpled (unsalvagable) necks when purchased in bulk from Midway over several years.

I contacted them about some LR primers that were popping on the edges and pitting my bolt face. Never heard anything from them

Primer leakage with their primers in a couple of higher dollar rifles. Sent them the primers and they sent back a letter stating nothing was wrong with their primers and a voucher for replacement of primer. Never got my bolt fixed.

I had a particular lot of defective primers and it pitted the bolt face of my mauser. Winchester settled up with a check to cover the cost of a new bolt plus some primers. It took a few months though.

I'm awaiting a response about some bad primers. It has been a good while.

I submitted a claim about bad primers a couple months ago as well, and haven't heard anything back.

I won't buy Winchester primers again; pitted 2 bolt faces with these primers.

Several years ago I had some (about 15) factory Winchester AA trap loads that had cracked brass. I called Winchester and they asked me to send them a couple for examination.

A couple of weeks later I got a voucher for a whole case of new AA's.

Yeah, I had a bad batch of (250 pcs) 280 nickel brass that was waaaaay short on headspace so I called them, got an RGA & sent them back.

Took a while & a couple of followup phone calls, but they eventually sent me a check for FULL retail value of the brass, since they didn't have a replacement available.

They don't work very fast............ FWIW.
