Every year it seems I find a couple of candy bars in my backpack or my hunting coat....
They are not typically smooshed, but are always faded.
How many of you guys just eat'em anyway.

You older guys might remember the big chocolate wafer that came in military C-rats. I had a few meals that were about 10 years old. On a bird hunting trip, I broke one out for lunch to see if it was still edible. The canned stuff was ok, but then I tried the cookie. It was a bit on the hard side. I couldn't even dent it. Before we were done, we set it up on top of a fence post and shot it from 10 yds with a 12 ga. The shot dented the chocolate coating but didn't penetrate or break the cookie.

sure do. they're usually almond joys or butter fingers. aged just right.
this summer i found a ziplock bag with some sort of brown substance in it in my fishing vest. it wasn't a hershey bar like i first thought. it was last years nightcrawlers. not good. not good at all.

Seems as deer season gets closer and I'm checking my clothes and packs I run into some Haloween treats from last year. Have caught myself in off season looking for 'treats'. To rem 141, grossest thing I've ever found was a woodcock in a bird vest that must have been shot 3 or 4 years before. Did not eat it and trashed the vest.

Mummified nightcrawlers would definately not be on my list of things to try to eat, giving 'em to some creep who rings your doorbell at 11:00 on Halloween night I'd prolly be O.K. with that. Though the chance of your pumpkin being smashed or your house getting egged might be his idea of payback.

Not for deer season, but when I go through my boat bag, before late Diver season I often find such treats as blueberry muffins, and cheese and cracker packages from the year before..I consider myself very lucky to find a package of goose jerkey

leftover Hershey bars in the pockets mean the last hunt didn't last all that long - or the youngsters were with someone else that day. Wasting chocolate is like wasting good bourbon - it doesn't happen here, even after a year.

I generally hunt out of state so whatever is left is eaten on the drive back home. Payday's for this guy as they don't melt or squish much. And they ain't sweet as hell.

Our deer season falls right after Halloween, so I get whatever's left from the little hellions beating on our door. We always get Twix and Nestle's Crunch. I've on occasion found last year's candy in my coat. Ain't died from eating it yet.

2 days ago i found 2 hall's cough drops in my hunting jacket while i was bow hunting. they had melted and were all stuck to my cell phone.i must have ate all my snacks last year.
