James Julia is auctioning off Percival's Rigby .470 next week. They expect it to sell for between $75,000 and $150,000.

Just in case anyone has a bit of walking around money.

It went for $70,000.00 , below minimum guessitmate, and a lot cheaper than a new one. A new Rigby DR in 470, going for a $175,000.00 for the boxlock and something like a 195k for the side lock. so this would have saved someone a $100k.

BTW a few months back someone was having a discussion on Elmer Keiths 338/74 single shot rifles. Was mentioned they were on Farquarhson (sp) actions. I was at the auction they were sold at, there were too, and Elmer was said to have commented that they were a pair. Both on Farq, actions, and both by Hindrickson. they were lot #s 1052 and 1053, I think. Went for $7k and $8k, maybe not in that order. great looking rifles.

If that gun could write or talk, I'd bet there are much more than$70k worth of stories it could tell.
