My work bench is just as cluttered as Dick's, but my rifles do not look as nice.

Details... CZ 452 sporter in 17 HMR. Custom trigger guard by DIProducts. I modified the trigger and shortened the magazine. It has a Neidner butt plate and a Weaver 4 X 16 Variable scope with dot on Talley rings. I also made a custom tuner.

Total weight with scope is 7 lbs. 4 oz. The gun will be used for short range varmint hunting, shooting in local rimfire matches and general-purpose woods wandering.

I just got the checkered stock back yesterday from Central Michigan Gunsmithing where Kip Wood checkered it to the pattern I asked for.

Here is the fore end pattern. There's a lot of work remaining... mostly touch-up bluing and hand rubbing finish into the stock. However, I was so happy to get the stock back that I had to put the gun together and get out the camera.

Nice wood, Eh?

Here, finally, is the finished rifle. I just got the parts back that were out for bluing and put it together yesterday. Scope to be added and it will be ready to shoot.

This is a dual-purpose rifle and will be used for hunting and, also, shooting in local rimfire benchrest matches. The scope is a Weaver 4 X 16X with a competition dot which is suitable for both.

An update on my stock. Shaping is now done and the first coat of oil applied.

The foundation of a .243 AI. Some of the other major components won't roll in this year anymore.

Not quite done, but it's ready for deer season.

Got the idea to build a 270 when I noticed that every time an ammo scare comes about, 270 ammo is still obtainable (probably thanks to ingwe).

Specs:
- Rem 700 ADL ($300 new from Academy)
- Manners EH6
- Gretan firing pan and shroud
- PTG Aluminum Trigger Guard
- Bolt handle by Phoenix Custom Rifle
- Bolt fluted by Long Rifles Inc
- DNZ Game Reaper mounts

Still to do:
- Swap the Ziess Conquest to a lighter weight scope (probably Leupold)
- Have rifle cerakoted (will happen after deer season)

Currently sits at 7 lbs 10 oz with scope.
