I really love talley one piece rings.

Now I find I may have to buy a rail and put something else on for that next VX-6

If you're using a 34mm scope I wouldn't think lightweight is that important.

Spotshooter,

Did Talley stop making them. I have them on my VX-6 4-24X52.

This was my first thought also. With this much weight why bother with a "lightweight" ring?

I'll jump on this band-wagon.

Let me help you out since I purchased a set and installed them on my substitute light rifle. The 'smith refused to work on my six lug Weatherby so I purchased a Pierce titanium action, a Christensen Arms 26" carbon wrapped barrel, Terminator T3 brake, a MPI custom lightweight stock, Hastings Micro-cell recoil pad, and Talley 34mm rings. Everything so far is the lightest I could get, that I know of. The reason I "need" the rings is I wanted to use a Leupold VX-6 4-24X52 scope.

Why this scope? It is better than my Swarovski z5 5-25X52 during the day and matches it in low light performance. Albeit, it it four ounces heavier. By using the Talleys instead of other rings I saved a few ounces. The ready to hunt weight is eight pounds. Heavier rings would have pushed the weight over eight pounds.

I hope this helps. smile

P.S.
I did find a 'smith who worked on my Weatherby, but didn't do a good job. Pac-Nor is working on it now. When I get it back it will be under seven pounds despite having a 26" barrel.
