Super! Yours an others posts here have greatly risen Austrailia to near the top of the list of places I want to visit. Well done. I'm thinking I would get along well with your son! Even though I opt for shoes...

you can mate, anyone can....get on a plane and get here.....aussies included battered - you exemplify the lovely attitude of so many (but not all) of the folks I've met in OZ. Have been to your country several times but, alas, too much of the time has been in Sydney, Melbourne (do like that place/area), Cairns and Adelaide (like that one too) and not nearly enough out in the areas as shown in your photos. Never had the opportunity to bring a rifle (don't know if your laws would allow me to do so) and certainly never have hunted there. Your posted day of shooting/hunting, especially with your lady and the youngsters, simply tickles my fondest fancies. All the best to you.

my understanding is that unless you are hunting with a registered outfitter/guide you can not bring your own rifle into the country. But from those ive visited and talked to spare rifles arent hard to come by if you show up for a visit

Nephew is the meat buyer for a USA hippie grocer. He was visiting stations in Oz in view of buying their products. Despite his employer, the guy likes hunting. May not have been legal and proper, but the Aussies showed him a good shoot, including ''roo" and other weird species. The host's attitude was, "no one will ever know."
"Do not blame Caesar, blame the people...who have...rejoiced in their loss of freedom....Blame the people who hail him when he speaks of the 'new, wonderful, good, society'...to mean ,..living fatly at the expense of the industrious." Cicero
