I was at our local gunshow recently and saw a guy have this Ruger Hawkeye LH in 7-08 and he was asking $795. I thought WTF and ask if that was a misprint and he said no. They are being discontinuted! He also had a 204 cal at his shop. Knowing some of these guys have bought from CDNN for sub-$500 he sure is ripping us off. To date I have only had one LH Ruger Mark II in 270 and if I did not have this I would be temp to buy a 7-08 just to play with.

I'm guessing he went home with it, unable to sell it.

That is my thought...buy one now and see the appreciation! But I got too man rifles...nearly all M700's except for 3 levers. My thinking is with 3 270's I am not sure I will see the benefit of having a 7/08 and I know many of you short action afficonados will say the 7/08 is nifty. I thought about the 204 caliber as well but I got plenty bullets for my 223 and my son's. So I will probably pass these rifles. Maybe the next show I can show up with 3 bills and make a deal with him right there to entice an offer (yeah I know he will not sell a rifle for 3 bills but we could agree to a price with 3 wagging bills :-) and I bring in the extra money). My 223 is a Douglas barrel and my son has a 223 LVSF and these shoot well that bringing in it's lil cousin is not feasible. Tempting tho...

Davidson's still has 44 of those in stock. I did a price quote for dealers in my area and the range was $563 to $649. That is with shipping, state tax, dealer fees, etc all included.
