Gday folks, just thought I'd share a few pics of my new to me Pedersoli Kentucky in .45 cal. And... Whilst I was over at the Pedersoli importers the other day getting powder etc I just had to handle a few guns didn't I? Bitten hard by the black powder bug. There's a Pedersoli Missouri River Hawken fast twist .50 on lay by now too.... 😜 Cheers, Scott.

Congratulations on the acquisition obewan, and the lay by. (It's "layaway" here is the U.S., but you probably know that.)
I've had and have several Pedersolis and never had a bad shooter. You're going to be a happy camper.
My wife says I'm totally nuts, but I think I'm Semisane.

My Mortimer .54 flint was a peach in fit, finish, and accuracy.
What fresh Hell is this?

An old hunting pard had one of those and it shot like a house afire. The only thing we didn't like about it was its poor balance. Extremely muzzle heavy- more so than one would have wanted even for offhand shooting- and excessive weight for its size. The reason: that thick, long, un-swamped barrel. There was a reason the old gunsmiths (and current custom smiths) used swamped barrels.

Thanks guys. Yeah it's a long rifle, but I guess that's why they're called "Long Rifles" right? 😀
I love it. It's got character. I've just located a nice friend for it too, a Pedersoli Missouri River 50 cal Hawken. Let the white smoke free!
Cheers, Scott.
