Gun is an LMT 14.5" pinned suppressor.

Well, I did the best with what I could today. Didn't have anything but my tailgate but hunting scenerio you don't have a bench rest anyways.

My my guess is the 1/7 twist doesn't like the 55gr weight in combination with the almost 5lb trigger. It is a RRiver 2 stage but not my prefered crisp 3.5 ish weight trigger.




The top 3 shots are at 100yards.

All center white are at 50 yards.

I'd double check my mounts/rings then try a different brand/weight of ammo. Is the optic a known good performer?

it really depends on the ammunition, if its some generic 55 grain FMJ, then you really cannot tell. Second a bench would help you out a lot. It should from a bench do about 3-4 inches with generic 55 grain for 10 shots. None of that crap is crazy accurate. Get a box of hornady 55 grain Vmax, some WW 69 grain match and some federal 77 grain match, a good bench, some bags a good solid chair, then you can see what the gun will do. I bet it will do close to 2 inches at 100 with 55 grain Vmax for 10 shots. Good luck!

ball fmj ain't ever going to be better than about 2moa.

Get some match 68/69 and see how it'll shoot. Federal Gold Medal 69 or black hills eihter 68/69

I have a RR Lar 15 that shoots 3/4 inch groups with 62 gr fmj factory Fiocchi ammo, 1 1/2 inch groups with 55 gr American eagle 5.56 fmj ammo.

Mabye they use better bullets since its Fiochhi, but generally speaking if you shoot 10 shot groups with most any FMJ, you will find 6 to 7 in a group and the rest fliers.

I"m assuming you are talking at least 10 or more 5 shot groups at 100 yards in your claim. Thats a pretty tough average. .75 inches at 100.

That being said the point is that almost all FMJ projectiles, not the ammo itself, but the projectiles are below par for accuracy.

Pull the 55s out of ball ammo, resize the neck, and seat a 52 bthp, and you'll get amazingly better groups typically.

I"m talking about long averages. Not just a couple of groups for both instances...

Best I've ever seen FMJ do was when a friend weight sorted 62s and reloaded the bullets...with weighed powder... worked yes, would average around MOA, not any better. Thats the best I've seen ever.

And I've shot a fair bit with the AR over many years to say the least.

My 1/7 twist likes Hornady 55gr Vmax.

The groups that I quoted were three shot groups, I have never shot 10 shot groups with my AR's, I use them for plinking and coyote hunting, I think three shots is enough to tell me how my rifle is shooting for that purpose. If I was shooting competition them it is a different story. I did however shoot a five shot group at 400 yards using my most accurate hand load that measured 3.937 inches, I have a photo but I don't have the program that is needed to post photos here, I don't post photos on these forums anyway, people can either believe me or not.

I'm sure everyone believes you but the problem lies in 3 shot groups, you just can't tell anything about them. Most of the time multiple 3 shot groups will wind up with different points of impact with the same point of aim.

But as much as I like small groups, I can kill anything I want to with a 2 MOA gun.

your guns ain't shooting as well as you CLAIM they are. But they are shooting WELL enough to do what needs to be done.

OTHO take a bit to understand the theory in a 10 shot group and things might become brighter about happenings from time to time.

Freddy, if you're hitting 3/4" groups at 100 yds with factory 62 gr fmj out of that AR and you're wanting to go kill chit, you're done. There's nothing else to do, unless you want to pour money down a hole searching for the One Ragged Hole grail.
