The Marlin 39 has or was in production since 1891, and now that Remington has bought Marlin, the gun is cataloged but seems to not be available.

If not the 39 then what 22 will have been in constant production the longest?
Maybe the Browning auto22 since 1914?

Anyone know?

Probably the Taurus model 62 pump. Rossi produced them for years essentially copying the Winchester which had been around under one number or another since the late 1800's.

Winchester's pump guns 1890, 06, then 62 production was stopped in 1959. Taurus began importing the 62 in 1999 and now they have stopped making the rifle also.

Not very "continuous" seems to me.

The last Marlin 39 I ordered in for a customer was a BIG disappointment. For almost the same money you can get a Browning BL-22 which is twice the gun, IMHO. The customer took one look at the Marlin 39 that came in and his face just went south. I am not surprised they put the 39's production on hold.

Winchester Model 1894 30-30 maybe. Not a .22 I know but it is still in production.

Rossi sold them for years before Taurus bought them out, but the Marlin 93/39A is still the oldest "in continuous production" firearm I can think of, off hand, if you don't include clones of various Colt revolvers.

Have an original 39 Marlin 1st year must count

The Browning SA just might be the correct answer

I have the Rossi, bought it new when they came out, fired it a few times, put it away and its still like new. Nice little gun.

The Marlin 39a was/is the longest continuous production rifle with the least changes made in the USA.

That may be the winner. Just over 100 years in production I believe.

Browning's takedown .22 auto was also made by Remington for many years as the Model 24 and then 241. It's been made by FN, Remington, Browning/Miroku, and also a Chinese company (Norinco?).

For me the best of them was the Remington 241, which had a longer, heavier barrel and fuller stock and forend than any of the other variants. I had a Belgian-made one back in the 1950s and found it just too spindly to suit me. The original Remington Model 24 is even worse. Light is fine. Too light isn't.
