I think I might have asked this before but I can't find it, has anyone had any time behind the CZ 557? Nice price, seems to have some really nice features, a no frills, no bs hunting rifle. It's a push feed which I really like. I'd be interested to hear some thoughts on this one.

I haven't looked closely at the 557, so I won't comment on that rifle, but I've got six other CZ rifles, four 527s, a 455 and a 452.

If the 557 is as good as those rifles, there should be no problems with them. The reviews I've read have all been positive, OF COURSE, but there don't seem to be any real reason NOT to buy one.

I'm entirely satisfied with my CZ rifles, except maybe the .17 Hornet, which doesn't feed very well, it shoots like a sonuvagun, though. My .221 Fireball 527 is probably my best-shooting rifle, period.

If it suits you, buy one. I doubt you'll be disappointed.

I've handled a couple of the 557's. They seem nice enough. Definitely like that they managed to get the safety working in the right direction. (Forward to fire)

Did notice that they are push feeds, but that doesn't get my knickers in a knot.

If you like CZ's, you'll like the 557.

That got mine in a knot. They had such a great action with the 550, why mess with it?

$$$, they are trying to market to a lower price point and the 557 is less costly to build. Nothing wrong with that(or the 557). Have not shot one however my grandfather won one in a gun raffle last year in .270. Let you know how it shoots if he ever uses it(he might I think, I know he is not too fond of his current deer rifle).
