What type/brand of ghost ring or peep rear sights are y'all running on your non angle eject mod 94s? Pictures if you have them would be great.

Just built a 356 on a top eject bigbore action, gunsmith put a lyman peep on it. Tried that model before on a mod 71 and found the adjustment wheels turned too easily and it self-adjusted going thru brush. On e-bay found an older version, he still has some left, that had a coin-slot adjustment system that took a lot more pressure. Have been very satisfied with it. Also sometimes older peep sights are available on e-bay made of steel. Would send pic, but posting them here is just to difficult.

Williams FP, same sight I use on my Guide gun. I have an Ashley post front sight on both, also. The idea is to keep the different rifles as similar as possible. Sorry for the fuzzy pic.

Vintage Redfield 70E (or an 80E), you've got to look around a bit to find them - gunshows or the online auctions.

Thanks guys I'm thinking about having a smith D&T the gun so I can use XS sights as I love those on my Marlins and Vic has a good point about familiarity. Just gotta find a smith local to the Montgomery AL area. Any idea what that should cost?
I do like the looks of that redfield and there are a couple on eBay.

I've got an old Redfield laying around somewhere, but it doesn't look like the one in the photo, it looks more like the Williams FP.

I have a Williams on my Mod. 94 in .356 and an old Lyman that came with my Mod 64 in 30-30. Both do the job well.
The Mod 94 is angle eject and the 64 was made in 1950 so of course is not. Not a problem either way from my experience.
Another option is Skinner sights. I have one on my 9422. For the 94 pre angle eject the website does say it requires 2 6-48 holes be drilled and tapped. I don't know if I would want to do that to an old Winchester, but it is an option.

I use the Williams Fool Proof on all my Big Game Lever Guns
A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.

I've long used FPs. I like them except for bulk. Trying a Skinner barrel mount. Didn't think it would work so far forward, but the sight picture is better than anticipated. Looks good on my Trapper.

I would like to see a pic of this. Looking into changing the rear sight of a post 64 model 94, but really don't like the look of the Williams sights attached to the back. Your idea might be the ticket.
