Picked up a nice 1950 model 64 last week. I've always liked the 64's the best of all of Winchester's lever guns. Hoping to get to the range this afternoon for some group therapy. I think I'll take it along. It wears a Redfield receiver sight. Thanks for looking.

I've always loved that model. Congratulations!

I used to own a 64, but a friend wanted it and the four Marlin 336A's I still own in that configuration keep me happy.

My wife has a 336 Marlin and loves it. While I prefer the 64's, the Marlins are a great gun.

The 64 and 71 take the cake when it comes to Winchesters for me. That probably stems from the 50's vintage Marlin 336A my grandfather gave me that has a 24" barrel and 2/3s length mag. They just point and balance incredibly well.

When a kid, if you mentioned "deer rifle". This was always the rifle that popped into my head!!!

Very nice rifle!!! Well done Mart!

The Winchester Model 64 is why I have two Marlin 336-A's in .35 and 30-30 ( much less expensive). Something about the classic lines of the model 64 the M-94 never quite had.

The 71 is on the must have list but I'll have to keep saving for a while for it. Should have bought one 25 years ago before they got so pricey.

That's because it's what Winchester advertised the De Luxe version as, the "Model 64 Deer Rifle".
Sure wish I could find a 20" DeLuxe Carbine with Lyman 56 for $84.05!

Mart, be careful. Once you get your 71 you'll have to get a 65 to complete the set!

I wouldn't have a problem with that. Those are some sharp looking lever guns.

Can a 64 be rebarreled with a 20" 94 barrel without too much cost and effort ? Have a chance at trading for one that's had the barrel cut down to 16".

Nice 64! The 64 is the only 30-30 I ever wanted. I finally got one a few years ago. Mine has a Lyman receiver sight. It handles great and shoot Nosler 170g into 2 inches at 100 yards. The old saying, "handles like a fine shotgun" comes to mind when hefting the 64.

The forend dovetail may not match. If I were going to the trouble and cost to rebarrel it, I would find a correct barrel or keep it as is. There's a couple M64 barrels on ebay right now.

I have always liked the lines of the 64 and 71. You found a real gem. The 64 carries through the woods like a wand. The Marlin 336A ain't bad either.

Lusted after a M64 for many years, finally found a nice one a few years ago. Heading for the range with mine in the morning.

Glad I bought my 64 and 71 a few years back before I knew what the heck I was doing. Always loved the Old West looking levers. Think I'll break 'em out this Christmas and Show them to my grandson, hope to gift both of them to him when he turns 18
