I'm having hamburger sauteed with onions and garlic, mixed in with a pot of rice.
Fresh green beans on the side. Sweet iced tea.

Chicken Khao Soi Soup.

http://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/chicken-khao-soi

A friend signed us up for 3 free meals from https://www.blueapron.com. We aren't likely to order much but it was fun cooking something I have eaten in Thailand. the ingredients were first rate from the box and it tasted good.

No. Local non chain place called Doc's. Right next to the local hospital. Actually an old converted Taco Bell. Much better grub now.

It enhances the experience somewhat if you place it in the oven for a bit.

If today's list of to do's are done, and all the Christmas decorations are found, and I get my electrical problem sorted out (where is the perfect man when you need him), we will be having chicken pot pie topped with a golden puff pastry crust like my oldest likes it, mashed potatoes, an oil and vinegar slaw that she likes to have with it (she has her father's taste buds, not mine), and a green salad to boot for mine and the youngest ones' taste buds grin

If I can get all of the leaves raked, one last rifle sighted in for my friends son to use, gutters cleaned out, yard mowed one last time and pot-holes filled in my driveway.

Ta he!! with all of that, wife and I will eat here like we do most every Friday night. I'll have sea scallops[Friday night only]in a rich cream sauce w/asparagus as an appy and most likely chicken marsala

After our last Italian dinner, there was about three gallons of stock left over that had not been used for the soup....I did covet all of it. After all, I did stay until 1:30 A.M. cleaning up after all the other 'expert' cooks had left the building.

Therefore I've been making soups like crazy and laying them up for the cold, hard winter ahead...

Three gallons of good stock?? I'm with you on that, sse. I wouldn't let that liquid gold go to waste.

Experimental soup tonight. Thai meatball. Ground bear, ginger, shiitake mushrooms, Swiss chard, chile de arbol, fish sauce, sesame oil, udon noodle.

Not bad. Headed to neighbor to guinea pig him and his wife.

What a riot, that is precisely what I said to another fella a the time. He doubled back to the club a few days later, to organize, preserve the leftovers. He left long before the event chair told me I could have the stock. He called because someone else told him I was using some items for another club function and that is when I said I was gonna take ALL of the liquid gold left in the cooler! I'll bet he thought he really scored when he saw it. I also bet he called the chair to see if I had permission to take it. Oh well...LOL
