The Sitka Ascent 20 is listed as 2000 cu in which would work well for me as a day pack or just carrying all of my crap to the stand. I saw a video explaining the differences between old and new which was basically removing features that cut the weight from 4 1/2# down to 3 1/2#.

However, I poured over several reviews online and it seems people did not like the fact with those features being removed. Just wondering if there are any other reviews or issues as well between the two. Thanks.

I have one of the old ones and love it. They changed enough that when I had a buckle break, the piece they sent me was for the new one and wouldn't work with my pack. Had to order a generic replacement from REI.

Some days it takes most of the day for me to do practically nothing...
