I normally don't use mixes, but a friend on my last camping trip showed me this dirt simple cake. Works great in a Dutch Oven.
Mix a box of Duncan Hines Spice Cake mix with a 15 ounce can of Libby's pumpkin. Bake it using coals from the camp fire, under the oven, and on top.
Icing was a simple XXXX powder sugar and lemon juice glaze.

Damn Sam, ya'll eat better out camping than we do at home.

Marie Antoinette would feel at home with Sam!

oh, and when baking the cake, he used a parchment liner in the Dutch Oven.
