We spend a whopping 110 a year, 2 tickets once a week. Wed/Sat I think...
Big deal.
I"ve wasted more on stupid chit with ZERO chance of return....
Heck I waste cases of shotgun shells on ducks in the fall, and generally get tiny returns on that...
We can keep Larry Root and all his idiotic blabber and user names on here, but we can't get Ralph back..... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over....

... Weekly where I buy gas I watch those ahead of me in line at the cash register. They buy $10 in gas for their POS car, a couple packs of cigs and a handful of lottery tickets. It's their money but talk about misplaced priorities ... And, I'll bet they've got a cell phone and plan that costs more than their car, gas, cigs, and tickets combined. And also have a couple of cars, trucks, ATVs, snow mobiles, and boats in their yard, both running and derelict.

Odd's? I am 70 years old and think the odds of a pair of 21 year old twin beauties asking me to a night out exceed greatly over winning the lottery big time. GW Got any photos of the twins? Afterthought! Should I win the big one I suspect the twins would be over knocking on my door. GW

I spend any where from 0 to $4.00 max a week on lottery tickets, one lotto and one powerball at a time when I think to do so. I understand the odds, but I figure that if $2.00 is going to break me, I aint got that much to loose anyhow. Only chance I've got of ever having anything now, so why not? It's not like I'm spending an excessive amount on tickets. I quit smoking about 30 years ago, do not frequent bars, and seldom eat out anymore, so I guess a 0 to $4.00 max / week throw away "investment" is not too bad a sin.

The lottery is a tax on those who can't do math My old GrandMother used to say that the TX Lotto was the only way all the illegal wetbacks paid taxes.

I throw away a few bucks now and then. It's actually my favorite little daydream. Never expecting a win but if you were stuck in Kommunist Kaliphornia wouldn't you try every imaginable escape?

I don't play but did work two projects with a Bechtel project manager counterpart whose father won one in Florida for $20M clear. Pop's was in his 70's, shared with his family until he keeled over then left them all well set.

I play the original lotto: watermelons, cows, citrus. It wouldn't be any fun to bet just money.

Some years ago I was working as a roofer. We had a Hispanic guy on the crew who never had any money. He was a nice guy and guys would give him a few $ and give him stuff to help him along. Then one day he let it drop that in 6 months he'd spent $2400 on lottery tickets. The donations dried up immediately.

The last time I bought a powerball ticket it cost $1. Had a girlfriend years ago that would run into the quicky mart while I was pumping gas and buy two lotto tickets, give one of them to me and say if either one is a winner, we split it. It was a fun thing to do and we each did it 3 or 4 times over a couple of years. We never won anything. I have purchased one ticket occasionally when the purse has been over $100 million. I am sure that I have spent less than $20 on lottery tickets in my 50 years.
I find reading about the lives of big lottery winners absolutely fascinating.

I always said that if I ever get rich, it'll be because someone gave it to me.
I plan to win the Mega-Millions next Tuesday.
Wish me luck.
I could wish a lot of things on my worst enemy but neuropathy ain't one of them.

I don't,generally. Local fellow hit the 50 million jackpot here a couple months ago. He came into the shop a few weeks back, still driving his older F350, looking for a good deal on tires. Don't think he'll be one of the ones they do a story on.
