I am looking for some Winchester Platinum Tip 260 grain bullets to use with a sabot in a 50 caliber ML but have been unable to find any on line. Does anyone know of a source for these bullets? Any help is appreciated.

I have a partial box (17) if you need some to finish the season. PM me if interested.

When Winchester dropped out of the muzzleloading business, I thought for sure CVA would grab the rights to this bullet also, along with the Apex rifle they inherited.

This 260gr bullet was originally the same design as the lead T/C Cheapshot bullet years ago, except having that Platinum on it. Now T/C offers the lead Cheapshot in 240 grain and I think is switching it to 44-cal soon.

Not quite. It more resembles the much maligned W-W "Black Talon" handgun bullets except silver plated not black. Cheapshots were all lead, no jacket.

They did have the rights to the Winchester Apex and CVA sold thousands of them as the Kodiak Pro. The old Apex and Kodiak were nearly identical rifles. The differences were basically just cosmetic.

cva built the winchester muzzy, it was basically a tester to see how the public would react to the SS barrels and heavier duty stocks and a price increase.

I had the X-150 which was a great rifle but very heavy. At the time it was around $350 and a cva mag bolt was $150 so it was a huge price jump between the two simply because they used SS barrels and a better stock set up, plus the winchester sticker.

Thanks. My brother is looking for a whole bunch of them because his Rem 700 ML loves them and he only has about a dozen left. I will ask him if 17 would be of interest to him. If he can't find a large supply, I think he may work up a load with another bullet, probably Barnes, that should be available in large quantities.
