I know this is BS, because Browning didn't make the list laugh

GREAT FALLS -

Which Montana towns have the most violent and property crime?

RoadSnacks.com analyzed data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the years 2011-2013 and came up with the following list of what it calls "The Top 10 Most Dangerous Cities in Montana."

Violent crimes are defined as rapes, murders, robberies, and aggravated assaults.

The author of the article, Chris Colmar, noted that they only looked at cities that have populations of more than 1,000 people as of 2013, which is the last year the report was available, which resulted in 38 towns in Montana to rank.

Colmar also said that they weighted crimes in 2013 more heavily than 2012 and 2011, since "more recent crimes are a bigger determining factor in how dangerous a place is."here are the top 10:

1.Wolf Point
2.Polson
3.Hamilton
4.Havre
5.Ronan
6.Billings
7.Helena
8.Cut Bank
9.Missoula
10.Kalispell

Bwahahahahaha! East coast barstool demographer.

Helena is meaner than Poplar. Teeehhee.

If you include wind chill, I can see why Cut bank is in there.

Five of those are reservation towns, sadly.

The other five have lots of "amenity migrants" from OTHER STATES, plus Helena is a government town (welfare) and Billings is just getting over the oil-patch excitement.

actually Butte has far less crime than any reservation town. went to school there and i could leave my vehicle unlocked with the keys in it and not worry to much. alot of people did it. was fuggin weird after coming from here...Butte has a chitty rep but in all reality as far as the people go it was one of the better places I've been, it was like a huge small town...

Gotta remember, it's Butte, America.

And in America, citizens don't pillage one another. I've always felt safe and at home in Butte.

Da Point isn't exactly dangerous, more dirty than anything.

Guessing less than half the locals know how to open the lid on a dumpster much less haul their old couch or refrigerator to the dump. I guess the road ditch is just soooo much easier.

Ronan and Polson are on the Salish/Kootenie reservation. Drugs and alcohol abuse are bad.. no really good anywhere in MT. Have to be vigilant wherever you may reside. It has become a dangerous world. But, here in MT the authorities urge most to get and maintain a CWP. MTG

Havre jumped from 27th to number 4 when Travis brought his special brand of doggy style to town.

Sam, speaking of dogs, one time, a few years back, I was sitting at the bar in the little lounge in the Sherman Inn, when a local told me this little joke.

Do you know what the fastest critter going through Fort Peck is?

A puppy! grin

MarlinMark: YOU are exactly right - Butte is the anus of the United States of America when it comes to deadbeats, druggies, ex-cons, union militants, drunks, scum bags, welfare rats, food stamp scammers, thieves, burglars and malcontents!
Butte is simply THE WORST town in Montana - maybe there is SOME "technicality" that keeps them off the list but I try to spend as little time there as possible and its about the only town in America where I carry concealed (without being paid to do so!)!
I am shaking my head at this list - I will have to do some investigating myself.
Sheesh.
