Very cool video!

THANKS for not: 1) using stupid music; 2) saying stupid stuff.

So the hunter carried the goat whole down the mountain?

Glad you didn't hit the kid at her feet. Shame there wasn't a dry nanny in the group.

Hunted that ridge in '12 & '13, lots of goats & some great billies.

Was it a nanny only tag?

Congrats!

Disgraceful! Poor taste to brag on that shot in a family unit and post it. I guess you left a good billy for a deserving hunter! jeff~

Utah does have nanny only tags, so it was probably one of those. What bothered me was the "tactical" shooting of a wet nanny with her kid at her feet, maybe even nursing at the time of the shot.

Great video and a true adventure. I took a mountain goat in the Cabinet Mountain Wilderness and believe it may have been my ultimate hunting adventure. BTW, after this hunt and much reflection I drew this conclusion. I summerized it as the following...

I wanted to hunt mountain goat...
and for my sins I drew a tag...
enjoy the hunt...
enjoy the pain...
cherish the memory of the adventure!

Thanks, it was a great hunt.
Yes Utah has a nanny hunt, and every good nanny we saw had a kid. I was surprised how many there were (kids). I assume the DNR is quite familiar with the ratio, part of the reason we were there that day was because the DNR had cut short the hunt, because they were netting some of these same goats for relocation a few days later. I hope that means even better goat numbers are ahead.

A friend won a raffle billy tag for this hunt at the Sportsmans Expo. Looks like I'll be there again. Beautiful area with some outstanding genetics.
