have I done something wrong?

have I committed a sin of commission, or a sin of omission?

everytime I first open a page, there's a disconnect, then I try again, and voila.

I've gotten some "break-in" ads when I'm reading the second page of a thread.

my universe system by AT&T is not perfect, I'm quite certain. but then, it only happens on this website.

I'm not complaining. I'm glad to be here. but the recent breakdowns has me concerned, yet again. I'm loaded down with anti-bug stuff.

recently, I made several posts, and none got through the gamut. like there was a block of some kind. am I once again being blocked from posting as a discouragement, or is it more than that?

voila. the post is in plain view.

the next screen was that "this webpage cannot be found." until I re-loaded, and tried some more.

it's a bug, no doubt. but who owns it?

Goes back and forth for me. A good week or two and now recently notes mid-session that the web page can't be found.

The only site I ever have issues with.

This happens often and while I know that your problems are real, the very fact that most do not have any problem, leads me to think that the problem is on your end, and not the website. I am no computer guru so I can't tell you where to look, but maybe others can. miles

This is the worst site of all the ones I watch.
Really long load times. When I try to respond I can type a full line before it show's up.
This software program is old, it's been around as long as I've been posting here. Most sites have upgraded, don't know about here.
I enjoy this site very much, but it has really become a PITA to post on.
And it's not my computer !!

am thinking about dropping the standard dues, and belly up for the premium service for a bit higher dues fee. I understand it's solid gold service with that one.

My screen comes up with the background color...blinks then most of the background goes white & gives me error notices...at least I haven't been "hearing" that damn ford ranger commercial every time I click on a topic...almost as annoying as a hemorrhoid...

they fixed mine too, until yesterday, and the process broke down, as my computer was invaded by whatever process or pirate.

as important as hunting & fishing is to the economy of the world, why in the world don't we have the latest state-of-the-art technology to protect and advance such an important contributor to our economy.

it defies understanding. like obama care, the process is out of control with various groups profiting at the expense of the majority.

profits are good, but excessive profits at the cost of poor service causes one to raise their eyebrows as to what is going on, exactly.

u-verse is my current carrier. it's not perfect, but they do try to provide service for a competitive fee. every site on the internet has to compete for viewers, and contributors, given the subject matter at hand.

i like the hook & bullet crowd, because i are one. but at some point, we have to be supported, or we will have to back away, and find a new port in case of a storm. ya know?

thanks for the response. from your handle it sounds like you might know about coons in south louisiana?

i love this site. my post count kinda, sorta corrobalates that comment.

but, why do i have to fight to get here on this site? pray tell?

with all the advertising i see popping up, is the advertising that keeps popping up, is/are the rates being set too low?

in other words, why doesn't this site run like greased lightening? i mean, in the post-modern era, speed is nearly everything isn't it?

gus, its obvious that you're challenged in a lot of ways about a lot of things including where I'm from, etc. How many decades has it taken for you to get your post count to where it is? It doesn't appear that you've learned a lot on the journey.

Firefox plus Ad Block. Try it unless you know a better way to simplify your life.

This place always gives issues, and has for years. My iPad and iPhone haven't been too bad since the latest update but it still has issues.

This place is free But it would be nice to have it reliably work every time.

Why do so many of us not have to?
I use a basic PC with Firefox and Ad blocker and have my 'puter cleaned every three months and seldom have a problem.
If the board was the problem mine wouldn't work either.

For what it's worth, I'm using Linux Mint 17.2 and Firefox 42.0 for Linux Mint. I have NoScript, Adblocker Plus, and Abine's Blur (formerly DoNotTrackMe) installed. My connection is over a Hide My Ass (as in donkey) VPN with encryption and tunnelling. The Fire works perfectly, and faster than a blink. This is the machine I'm using now.

It also works on my Windows XP and 7 machines, all using various Firefox editions, with the same add-ons. Although with Windows I use CCleaner to purge Internet cache and other unsightly build-up. Some XP and 7 machines use Anonymizer and/or Hide My Ass for VPN services alternatively, and Webroot Secure Anywhere for anti-virus, anti-malware real time protection.

I have to use Adblocker Plus, because I just can't read a page with blinking, scrolling ads that distract my eyes, messes up my sense of balance.

Maybe try this since you apparently have to run Google Chrome.

I don't use IE but its on both of my computers, and I can open and view this web site with IE. Wish I knew what I'm doing wrong.

It most definitively has problems, at least on Windows based computers. I've tried Firefox, Google Chrome and IE and lately I get a constant flag about security certificates, or even weirder, the screen changes format and color and when you attempt to post I get a 404 Forbidden access error code. Now no issues with a Mac though

Guys:

Uninstall FLASH, clean cookies, browse and decide how much FLASH means to you.

If you want FLASH, go to adobe.com and install. At least you know you will have a clean, latest version.

FLASH is on its way out. First Apple, then Mozilla, next Chrome nuked it from their worlds.

Buggy whip. Problematic, buggy, hitchy, vulnerable.

I nuked FLASH months ago. Don't miss it a bit.

i've experience fewer "attacks" today. and that's good, in my simple book.

no doubt der cyberrillians are amongst us. i hear through the grapevine that up to 10,000 ISIS volunteers are headed to ny city in boats supplied by israel and russia, since they don't own any of their own.

it's good to get to access this page without going through a ton of hoops, and jump throughs. the whole thingy might be a test to see who's dedicated and who isn't? i don't know.

but, i can type without it bogging down, dragging, and then disappearing when i attempt to post. that's a positive thing and outcome.

if push comes to shove, please visit the Dark Mountain Project, if everything else fails. lol.

I don't have the problem with other websites.

Considering I don't have to custom configure some my computers and phone to work on other websites, it would seem there are some issues with this one.

I was bumped just now trying to give a reply. I guess I'll come back later when it gets fixed since I can't do anything without getting redirected.

Go.goadv.com?

Had it happen on my of and my phone this morning. Never happened before and only started after spending time here.

They say everything happens for a reason.
For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

Looking into it guys.

Popups and redirects are definitely not allowed here, but at this time of year unscrupulous advertisers get stuff through the normal blocks.

They'll ne nuked soon. Just running tests to isolate them now.

BTW, Rick, the problem seems to have been corrected on the office big computer, but at home, I do get the redirects virtually every time I select a new forum to look at. This is a recent occurrence.

Different issues.

This redirect thing happens industry-wide periodically. A whole bunch of people from a whole bunch of websites and ad platforms are tracing these ads down, and will nuke pretty soon. This is not a localized problem.

The FLASH thing is separate, very much localized on certain machines, and easier to spot and repair.

Glad your other machine is fixed. This one is on our end.

Question, how can it be on your end, when it never happens on my end either at work on a crappy PC or at home on the Macs?

We can keep Larry Root and all his idiotic blabber and user names on here, but we can't get Ralph back..... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over....
