Relax, fellows! O is planning on outfitting the Syrian "refugees" / terrorists with a 1911 each as a welcome to the U.S. Present.

Obama "maybe" didn't read all 585 pages of the $770,000,000,000 defense authorization and procurement bill.
The 1) CMP sale of 10,000 units and 2) removing lead ammunition and lead components OUT of the EPA's jurisdiction were still winners for 2A lovers.

Wonder what they will sell for through the CMP? Lord knows they're not giving away any of the M1's they have or the M1 Carbines they had. And anything that is special at all will go through their auction and those sell for rediculous amounts. I gaurantee you that any Singer or North American (or anything that isn't a completely beat up 1911) will go to the auction site. My guess is they will be charging $700 for the almost junk condition, $800 for somewhat decent and $1000 for decent condition.

Maybe he's planning to let the ATF distribute them for the CMP so they can track criminals.

Restricted to 10,000 units requires the CMP to obtain a dealers license and run background checks... nothing different than buying a handgun from any other place, except that they'll be over priced and hard to get, most likely only by auction!

as to prices, cmp will set them, and most likely the rare ones will be done at auction.
A guy i know sold a singer that was a real singer, for about 30k a few years ago.
Some of the more limited runs bring in the zero's these days.
A remington can actually bring 1500 or more if parted right.
They are not cheap.
The days of the 200 or less 1911 are over.
Then there are the 1911's, even more.
i can remember a union switch a few years back i turned down at 1500bucks. That in hindsight was stupid. Along with the 400dollar ithaca.

It isn't just south korean m1carbines, there were garands, and 1911's in the deal too.
It was a done deal, at least the principals in it thought so.
Until the state department under hillery shut it down.
some of the garands were the diesel drum garands. New ones coated in cosmoline, and stored in diesel drums.
they would not have come through cmp, as they were purchased guns by south korea, not lendlease.

probably not far off the mark. But so few real singers and north americans were made they will go if available for seriously big bucks. At auction.
The irony is they have been sold before, through the NRA for about 27bucks, and i think even prior to that for like 19bucks.
Course that was a long time ago.
One that is parted correctly and original to the gun brings serious money.
They weren't too concerned in the arsonal rebuilds of keeping the parts all together, same as with garands, etc.
I offered a guy 1500bucks a number of years ago for a remington, and was turned down. It was obtained new in the kraft box by a guy in WWII, who was a clerk, he never used it but took it home.
And I passed on another one that was a different manufacturer and actually priced right at 2000 bucks a month or so ago.
I think he was selling it anticipating this cmp sale.

I carried several Remington Rand M1911A1 for 20 years (I was an LTC by the time the M-9 was issued to me) - wouldn't mind having a Remington Rand - and they are pretty common.

You are either a liar or you are stupid. Ever pay attention to what the Marxist pig has said about gun bans?

I don't really have a problem with the ultra rare ones being auctioned off, it's the high prices they will most likely be asking for the standard ones.

Look at the CMP auction sometime. Junk bayonets going for over $200 for 10, and I do mean junk - they even say they're junk. A couple years ago they sold like 500 cut down greek tooth brushes for a couple hundred dollars - yes used tooth brushes! Right now they have a NIB Remington M700 with scope that's already at $5000. Problem is they don't show enough of the gun to know if it's a M40 or just a standard M700 with a scope on it. If it's a real NIB M40 it's probably worth $40-$50,000, if it's just a M700 it's worth maybe $1000. Check out the Unertal sniper scopes also, over $5000 for them each! I understand the demand for these for people making replica M40's but I wonder what CMP "dumping" 10 or 20 on the market is going to do to the value of them.
