Need some info on modification of a synthetic stock. Need the stock shorten for the wifes ruger mk ll. Anyone done this? thanks

Is it the boat paddle, if so there's not much you can do that is going to look very good. If it's the newer style synthetic just cut the desired amount off with a tablesaw or miter saw. Sand the end smooth and most importantly square, and glue a pad on with epoxy. When it dries grind it down flush with a belt sander or something similar.

I'm pretty sure one of the pad companies makes a pad for the boat paddles that comes with an adapter that epoxies into the stock and gives you a second hole to screw into.
I would suggest posting this in the hunting rifles forum as that is where I saw the picture of it.
If it's the current type synthetic, I would still suggest cutting out an adapter from a suitable plastic to make it a much more secure mount.
