I'm about to pull the figurative trigger on a Black Friday upper, but need a little guidance first. Will the front sight ramp obstruct the view through a scope?

Only with low magnifications. I find that over 6x the front sight assembly is a non issue.

I find that at 3x all you see is a shadow of the assembly.

Blue you think the 1x6 is worth over double? It is tempting.

I just have no idea. I haven't even looked through the 1-4. I think I handled a 1-6 when they first came out, but I don't even remember for sure.

I guess it'd depend on your use and if that magnification really mattered. I thought it would matter to me when I got my 1-6, then ended up shooting an Eotech almost exclusively for over a year, so I guess it's just not that important after all.

I have a 1-6 Leupold, it stays on 3 when I am hunting, but I do put it on 6 when I shoot it at targets. Then I shoot a 1-4 SWFA and I get about the same results, maybe the 6 power is needed for more distance or smaller targets but I just don't know. To me the 6 power is not worth double the price, its a rifle sight to hit stuff with 4X is plenty if I had found SWFA 1-4's before I bought the 1-6 I would not have bought it, and I just ordered another one!!

Also I cannot see the front sight ramp at 3.5X out of a 50 mm objective Kahles in an LT-104 mount.

For me the 6x is handy on small targets out to 400 or so yards as my eyes have difficulty picking them up at that range. I run a 1x4 for out to 200 and it is very handy and fast.

Robert, forgive me but my English mother compels me:
