Not to pick a scab or a fight, but the biggest paper tiger in College Football this year was Ohio State.

I don't know if they will or won't, they seem to be gelling at the right time, but they aren't perfect by a long shot.
Regardless, there is still college football to be played before the end of this season.

GG, I don't see it so much as their game against MSU, as much as the weakness of their schedule. They played sisters of the poor, shady acres rest home, the hee haw gospel quartet and Ironton rotary pee wee champions among others.

I was surprised by how good Iowa looks! Damn, they look good! Of course, no one would know because the networks are filled with morons that prefer to wear a butthole necklace than broadcast decent football games.

Now that's funny. Yeah, they didn't have a very tough schedule, I have to agree, and they didn't exactly demolish many of the teams they did beat. Still gotta route for my Bucks, and stick a little salt in the wounds when I get the chance.

Alabama will win the National Championship.
RS They can't even beat Ole Miss at home. SEC is over-rated. The vaunted Bama-LSU showdown that vaulted Bammie back into the playoff rankings was followed by LSU getting blown out twice more by unranked teams.

If AU had Dak Prescot, They would have been 10-2 at worst, and maybe better. That shows how important the Qb is to Malzahn's system. Receivers were also an issue after Duke Williams was cut. AU put 10 players into the NFL off of last years team. That's too many starters to replace. AU will be strong again next year, providing they sort the Qb situation out. The program is in good hands.

Why can't AU recruit a QB? Did they set a precedent with Scam and his dad? Bad juju? I think they are in good hands by AU standards. If a program is solid (and can recruit) losing 10 players to the NFL shouldn't be an issue. There will be 15 or more recruits in the wings chomping at the bit. That never happens at AU. Top notch players aren't going to sit around for 3 or 4 years so they can play on a team that will go 7-5. Auburn's woes lie within the program, not on the shoulders of those they choose to put on the field.

About not being able to recruit a QB, seems to me the almighty Nicky had to get a leftover from FSU to run his team. How can that be with 8 #1 recruiting classes? I think they are in good hands by AU standards. If a program is solid (and can recruit) losing 10 players to the NFL shouldn't be an issue.

Put down your Crimson koolaid for once or go to Al.com and jump in bed with Phyllis from Mulga. The Tide is having a good season so enjoy. Get off the scam thing, that was all with Miss St., or did you miss that? If you check real quick, AU has won 11 out of the last 20 Iron Bowls. Guess you missed conveniently forget the Mike/Mike/ Mike years (DuBois, Price, Shula) when Bama was 0-7.

Alabama does not have the want or need for a "spotlight" QB. (See Les Miles thread) or this...
ETA:
"I like to play how our players can play," Saban said. "I liked the way we played last year when we had Amari Cooper catching 115 balls and running all over the place. I liked that. I like however we can play. This just happens to be the best way this team can play. Our best workhorse is a running back. ... I'm not a run-and-play-defense guy. I'm a score-however-you-can-score-and-play-defense guy."
Put down your Crimson koolaid for once or go to Al.com and jump in bed with Phyllis from Mulga. The Tide is having a good season so enjoy. Get off the scam thing, that was all with Miss St., or did you miss that?
I listen to Finnebaum quite a bit. He even gave AU the benefit of the doubt saying they would only lose 4 or 5. If you check real quick, AU has won 11 out of the last 20 Iron Bowls. Guess you missed conveniently forget the Mike/Mike/ Mike years (DuBois, Price, Shula) when Bama was 0-7.
Rebuilding takes time when done right. There will never be another Mal Moore, but his autobiography will provide some excellent insight into how it is done. Auburn's woes lie within the program. What color is your koolaid? Sort of brown I bet.

Try it out. Rebuilding takes time when done right.
..and Malzahn's been there not quite 3 seasons? What does your quote say again? It takes time to do it right? I listen to Finnebaum quite a bit.
That explains everything I need to know here. Best of luck in ATL. Adios!

The Tide is having a good season so enjoy. I enjoy every season. I just hope I never get so butthurt that I try and defend our program with, "If Au had Dak Prescott..." Rebuilding takes time when done right.
..and Malzahn's been there not quite 3 seasons? What does your quote say again? It takes time to do it right?
I never said anything about Gus. Building and rebuilding are two different monkeys. I said Auburn's woes lie within the program, alumni included. You know you listen to Finnebaum. A little dose of reality is healthy from time to time.

You're not going to get a huge argument that they are not a top 4 team, unless they wet the bed vs UF. So what's with throwing down the gauntlet?
You want some someone to throw Ohio St and Oklahoma out there? Iowa? Mich St.?
Bama has one loss. They played poorly vs Ole Miss who is a three loss team so their "dominance" will be questioned.
Personally, I see Bama vs Clemson for the title.
