Can I use a SCBA tank to fill a PCP air gun? If so what will I need?

The high pressure ones are great for PCP. They go up to 4500 PSI.

Most airguns pressure up to 3000 PSI, so the low pressure SCBA tanks that pressure up to 2200 PSI aren't going to get the gun to the correct pressure.

Thanks for the reply. A friend of mine a firefighter is willing to let me have a 4500 PSI tank, will this be a good choice for a PCP gun. At the present time I don't have a PCP air gun but I'm looking into buying a 25 cal Bemjamin Maureder (sp).

With the correct fittings, you sure can fill your gun with an SCBA tank. Look up the Yellow Forum on Network 54. You will learn all you need to know about airguns there.

Depends on the size of your tank and the fill pressure. Crossman has a fill calculator that will figure that out for you once you know which gun and tank.

Example: 550 cu in tank filled to 4500psi will fill a Marauder approx 84 times from 2300psi to 3000psi

Another fill calculator if you're not using a Marauder. Tank Fill Calculator
