Working on putting together a build on a Mini Mauser. Gathering up parts and pieces, and reloading supplies too.

So, which dies should I buy??

I've had good luck and have preferred my Redding dies up to this point. But I haven't bought a set of dies in probably 5 years. For my 257 Bob and my 22-250 I use Redding neck sizing dies and standard seating dies, and Lee's factory crimp dies.

Suggestions??

Thanks,

David

When I put my 6x45 together I had a set of Redding 6x47 dies on the shelf I bought at a gun show cheap. I chucked the full length die up in the lathe and took a couple millimeters off and chamfered the hole and they worked perfect. I am going to do another one on a Remington action as the Sako Vixen I used was a little on the short side for the longer bullets. 6x47 dies are not that hard to find at shows.

I went with Forster dies

Redding ships with a tapered expander ball installed.

Hint.

With a Mini Mauser you are fhuqked in regards to COAL(amongst other concessions)...but this is the way to fly for 105's.

That BC and mettle at 2525fps,REALLY cracks schit hard and the 18.5" 1-8" Bart OEM contour dupe handles exceptionally.

I like my Forster dies over Redding. In the case of my 6x45's, I use redding with a tappered expander...works well. I just prefer the Forster set-ups in my other chamberings.
