A 255gr RF or WFN over 10gr Unique was always my favorite for Blackhawks.

Ballisti Cast #1101 & 18.5 grains of 2400. A classic load, this is one of my favorites.

That's funny, I almost mentioned 18gr 2400 as well. Not because it's my favorite, but because it does right about the same velocity as 10gr Unique, but with more flash and recoil.

A 255 gr. cast SWC over Universal. 8.0 gr. if I more or less want to duplicate the original velocity, 8.5 or 9.0 gr. if I feel the need to soup it up a bit.

Lyman 454424 over 8gr. Unique. 7 grains if it is to be just a day of plinking empty beer cans. I don't hunt with it nor do I rely on it for self defense so why load the snot out of it? Colt New Service, 5½" barrel.

I use the 260 LFN and 12 grs Longshot or 14 grs. Blue Dot or the 280 LFN and 11 grs. Longshot or 13.5 grs. Blue Dot.

Basically 45 ACP pressures with 44 WFN frontal area.

The 454429 or 270-SAA sub respectively.

Good for plinking or hunting; have used all bullets for both.

Yup, 8.0 of Unique for 250/255 gr cast or 7.0 gr over a cast (or swaged)230gr RN (ACP bullet) have been my "go to" loads for accuracy, not necessarily power.
The 230gr load is the one I have used to teach many young ladies and little kids to shoot SAA revolvers.
