He had Cancer, I did not know. A local gent who I had the pleasure of visiting with many times. Jim was the son of Jim Clark Sr. - a master shooter and gunsmith who also served for our country. Rest in Peace with the Lord Jim.

Wow!

Hate to hear that. He living right there in your neck of the woods. I had been on the compound several times. Neat set up, good folks.

What a loss.

Thanks for the heads up.

For those who may not know, Jerry Miculek is married to Jim's sister, Kay.

They all live in nice homes at the compound with multiple ranges, the gunshop, various buildings with meeting rooms, tractor sheds, etc.

From what I know, they're a close family and don't you know this is devastating.

May he rest in peace. I had the privilege of meeting both Jim Jr and Jerry at a Shot Show a number of years ago.

Tom's down in Mandeville, LA. His Dad, Grits, lived in Natchitoches, about an hour South of the Clark property in Princeton, LA, which is near Bossier City, across the Red River from Shreveport.

All that info for you Louisiana Cajun wannabe's... laugh

Sorry to hear about Jim. They have built a lot of nice guns.

Is there enough family involvement to carry on the business, or is this pretty much end of the line for Clark Custom?

Jim's sons are carrying on according to their web site.

One of them has been at it for 10 years. Considering his heritage, he should be pretty good. Lots of family support, I'm sure.

Sad to hear. Got one of his 10/22 rigs.

I was in Clark Custom about a month ago. Jim wasn't there as he was getting holistic pain treatments. They told me that he would not make it to Christmas. He had a great attitude about it all though. He told his friends that he had a wonderful life and wished that it could have been a little longer but he was OK with the cards he had been dealt. He did find it ironic that he had spent his whole life staying fit, watching his diet, etc. because everybody in his family died of heart problems and here he is going to die in his mid-50's of cancer.

I can't say enough good things about Jim, his family and crew at Clark Custom. Oh, and they turn out some really, really fine firearms and will continue to do so.

Not to make light of Mr. Clarks passing, but we should be thankful we still have Clark, of 'Flaves Precision.

The Eulogy for Jim Clark Jr. today was beautiful. It was the longest one I have witnessed, in a large part due to all the accomplishments this man made in a variety of ways. The two things that stand out with Jim, were his Character and Integrity. It was impeccable. He was a man that anyone who met him, had much respect. He was far more than a world champion shooter and gunsmith and had many hobbies/talents i.e. being pilot and was in Karate and other activities. He was an amazing husband, father, and had a very strong Faith in God. He not only served as an inspiration to folks all over the world during his travels but a great role model for his two Sons. Jim surely learned well from his father, Jim Clark Sr. So it is as a parent passes down life lessons which will serve them well. Jim was a very kind hearted giving person who was always willing to help any person in need. The words that his wife wanted to leave for all, “We held hands every night while praying and thanked God for our Marriage.” The immense Love from long ago was very apparent in all the photos and in the life of this family. Jim will be greatly missed. His wife told a close friend since his passing, “I will miss my Best Friend.”
The Love Jim had for his wife Lori, and their two Sons was immeasurable. The pictures, videos, and stories told of a special life of Love, Joy, and Happiness.
Prayers warriors – your prayers will be greatly appreciated for Jim’s wife, Sons, and extended family. This will surely be a very hard Christmas for them.
May God give them the peace they need as this family moves forward.
