It's been a bane for a lot of folks.
The way I understand it, both Moses and Ramses were plagued by the flashing envelope, to the point it caused much consternation between them.
The rest of the story is history, so they say.

It pisses me off too! Also, why can't i save a thread to watched or subscribed? And forget about using the "contact us" link...that's completely useless, mail comes back undeliverable!

Ditto for me too. I tell myself I won't click the damn arrow every time I login because, I'm a newb, no one needs to message me. But, I click it anyway and am overwhelmed by a sense of loneliness and foreboding.
