Some of the charter boat captains asked me to shoot in their 3D archery league. Figured it would be fun and a chance to get to know them better which will help with fishing as a bonus.
Last night was the 1st shoot.
5 rounds with 5 targets each round.
Last night was a javelina,whitetail,coyote,turkey and standing grizzly. The javelina was a motorized moving target.
Shots rotated at each station,sitting kneeling,standing and standing on a treestand.
I scored 236 out of 250 with 5 X's. I have not shot my bow since archery season in Nov. so I was happy with that and I won the night.Still learning the kill zones on some of these targets also

You're shooting very well.
I haven't shot 3D for several years but I do remember the scoring areas don't necessarily relate to what I saw as kill shots.
A pair of good, small binocs helped with the shooting for score games.
It's more fun than watching TV or going to the local tavern for sure!

Week 2 went well didn't shoot quite as well as last week scored 228 but course was tougher with trees and fence posts and hard angles.
Someone tried keeping me out of the X on a target but it didn't work out so well for his arrow

Ouch... That stings the wallet some.

Felt bad for the gut who's arrow I sluced,he just bought them and lost 2 arrow that night.

Course was difficult tonight the moving target was a bobcat
There was a skunk,small black bear,Panther and standing brown bear that was facing away with back to you. Line of standing corn stalks to shoot between at the 30 yd target as well as pine trees and stumps
I shot a 225 with one botched shot on the skunk that scored a 5
3rd highest score shot on this set up from all the leagues this week but I easily left points on the table. Good fun

We have a Techno Hunt league about to start. It's a buddy league eight weeks long. My son and I shoot it together. We placed third the first time we shot the league, second place this last time. We should have won it but my son got in a slump for a couple weeks and we lost a big lead we had. I'm pretty consistent, but my son is either on fire or really sucking lol. We have been talking about being smarter with risky shot placement and trying for consistency.

Techno hunt? Is that the video targets?

Sounds fun. Wish we had some local shoots like this. What is target distances? Do you use the exact same setup that you hunt with?

Different set up every week with 1 moving target and different 3D animals furthest target is 30 yds.
I use my hunting setup a Mathews Helium with single pin sight

This is wild I shoot in the same league at Creekwood 8:30 on Tuesday. Shot 224 week one, missed week two, and shot 218 this week. Trying to talk Ben into getting the summer 3D league from the tower going again too.

Ahh so you know exactly what I'm talking about,it's a fun league !

Ben mentioned with the new law of only having to be more than 150' from neighbor he could do the outside course again

3D is fun!!! Haven't done it in a few years but was a blast.
Especially when you get targets you don't normally see.

They have a North American side, African side and novelty targets. One year they had a shark from jaws, alien from the movie 'Alien' and always a life size giraffe (no chit).

R100 just happens to be coming to Batavia, NY which isn't too far from dvdegeorge and myself. Ithink myself and some of the guys I shoot in the league with are going to sign up.

I may go also depends on my fishing schedule

Well tonight I shot like crap...or very good if you take 5 shots out. I had four 5's and a zero(which resulted in an arrow in 3 piece). That came in the last round having to sit backwards in a treestand, a tree in front of the longest deer target. I tried to squeeze the arrow past the tree into the X ring and swiped the side of the tree.

Sometimes you eat the bear, sometimes the bear eats you.
