Norm you just missed a 284 clip on ebay.com. I actually bid on it but was not around at the end, so missed it. Went for $84 US I believe, which was a deal. The 308 ones have been selling for $110-$120 on there. Keep watching.

Sad, makes you actually wanna sell all the mags out of your 99C's at those prices.
Knew a place about 6 hours away from me that had original Savage mags hanging on the wall not more than 4 years ago at $40 a pop and I didn't pick them up cause they weren't 284 mags.

Not specific to models, more by cartridge. The numbers showed up in the '60s I believe. The #34 is usually seen on the .300, .250 and .22-250 and sometimes on .243. I tried to make a chart but there are crossovers. I have noticed front sight ramps vary in height so that affects which sight is actually used. I don't know how the guys assembling them kept it all straight and expect mistakes were made.

I was wondering if anyone knew where to find a replacement saddle ring for my 1899 30-30. Welcome to the 'Fire. I just did one. Perfect. Mounting and finish matching instructions included. I am assuming you need the ring only and not the staple. http://www.tapaderaswinchesters.com/saddlerings.html

I should have been more specific. I need both the ring and staple.

The one I have is steel. Can anyone tell by looking at it if I ruined it drilling out the stubborn pin that held it in? I don't have another to compare it to. The pin is trashed too but an RCBS decapping pin looks like it may work.
