Some bullets for visual comparison. First is the Alco Bullet 6.5mm 160 with a claimed BC of .829. Next is the Hornady EXD-X at .615 BC and last is a Barnes LRX 127 with a .486 BC. Boy, just eyeballing them, the ELD-X sure doesn't look like it'd have a > 20% higher BC than the LRX...
Some shooting knowledge: Don't stand in front of the muzzle. Some hunting knowledge: Too much noise ruins the hunt.

The VLD-X has sixteen more grains to work with.
I know the LRX works from forty yards to 420 yards because I killed four animals with it last year. Muzzle velocity was 3,250 feet per second.

Yes, but you don't usually see a 20+ % jump with an increase of only 16 grains. Any experience with the 7mm 168 LRX?

Yes, but you don't usually see a 20+ % jump with an increase of only 16 grains. Any experience with the 7mm 168 LRX? I haven't tried them yet in my 280 AI. I did have my Pac Nor barrel made with a 1:8 twist, so I should be able to stabilize them. Hard to find anyone with experience loading them. I contacted Barns, and they did send me load data for the 280 Ack and 168 LRX. They are HUGE! I measured 2 of them, and I'm showing and even 1.6" But yeah, pretty close.
