Evidently the MK V has a 1:10 twist.

What is the heaviest bullet that YOU have shot through yours successfully?

Thank you

My Ultra Lightweight shoots 140 AB's better than I do. Can't get it to shot 160 AB's at all. Although 160 Partitions have shown some promise the few I have tried.

The 162 Hornady did fine for me. My father got exceptional accuracy from old 175 Partition semi-spitzers in factory ammo.

Hey Fotis , ihave two and load for 3 more , all love 160 accubonds w/ 75.5 gr H-1000. One of mine will only shoot that load , hates everything else. Good luck

Fotis, I am just on my way to sight in my 7mm Wea. after changing scopes.. I have used 7828 in this rifle with great success with 160's.. Haven't tried the Accubonds, but it shoots 160 Sierra HPBT's and 160 Part. in to tiny groups.. A really great caliber.

Fotis, I use 7828 with the 160's, and I believe 72.5 gr. But this one is on a 700 action so I am seating the bullet out the the base of the neck.. It gives 3240 fps.

I haven't shot any other bullets much except Horn. 120 HP,s for coyotes..

I did try one load with 140 BTBT's, it gave 3500 fps, I would have to look that load up if it interests you.. I never really shot it much..

All of my shooting on game was with the 160's.. So far it has taken, antelope, whitetails, mule deer, axis deer, elk, and moose.. Plus many coyotes and rockchucks.. The same load of 7828 does well with 160 Nosler Partitions also..

Fotis,

Weight doesn't matter nearly as much as length and shape, which is why Weatherby's 175 Hornady Spire Point factory load usually shoots very well. They also load the 160 Accubond, a very long bullet, which normally shoots great out of 7mm Weatherbys.

In fact, except for very long, ultra-high BC bullets over 175 grains, most 7mm Wbys. stabilize any hunting bullet.

Mine was made in '81 or '82 and it shoots the Nosler 175 Partition very well at 3050 fps. It also likes several 160 gr bullets.

I haven't tried the LR A/bonds or Berger VLD's.

I've had mine for years, but just staring to load for it myself. In the past my buddy just loaded to factory specs and we called it good. Now I have my own setup and can cause all sorts of disasters.

I can load a dummy 160 AB round to 3.450", and bolt still closes easily (specs are 3.360"). However I don't have a Guage to check depth and see if I'm touching the lands. Also, any longer, and the loaded cartridge won't fit in the magazine. Not a huge issue, as i can get the mag box from a .300.....but it also wont eject, the tip hits the top of the action any longer than 3.450".

It wouldn't shoot them very well at factory specs with different powders, I'm hoping to get better rules with different seating depths?
