Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) closed a 30-point gap with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to virtually tie her in a new national survey published Friday.

The poll, from Quinnipiac University, found Clinton leading Sanders among national Democratic primary voters, 44% to 42%.

That was a wild swing from a mid-December Quinnipiac poll that found Clinton leading 61% to 30% nationally over Sanders.

I would still rather run against Hillary than Sanders. Many folks here fluff off Sanders because they think he would be easy to beat. The last thing we need is for a proclaimed socialist to run, we all laugh at him as a joke, and then the idiots out there elect the guy.

Then socialism is considered normal. Then what's next, elect a communist? Laugh at that last statement all you want, but look where we are now compared to 8 years ago. A communist could easily be running in 8 years.

But, Sanders being closer in the race makes it a tighter race and they will need to get dirtier and Hillary will be an even more bloody carcass going into the general election. Also, if it gets dirtier, all the devout Sanders voters out there will hate Hillary even more and stay home.

We have a very left leaning weekly here, "Boise Weekly", that I occasionally pick up since it's more of a coming events/concerts kind of thing with some left wing bs articles scattered throughout.

They had an online poll of "who would you vote for" with all of the current R and D candidates. Bernie got 66%, Hillary got less than a third of that with Trump just behind Hillary. Cruz, Rufio et al got in the 1% range and Jeb got exactly 0%.

Remember that the readership is far left mostly but it shows where the enemy's head is at (when it's not up their asses).

Rockinbar: You are EXACTLY correct in your assessment of the schidt state of affairs our country has degraded to at the hands of liberals!
The "gimmee, gimmee, gimmee other peoples money" mentality is taking over BIG TIME, of recent, and it is self destructive and unsustainable.

Your quote: "That we have either even in the running for the presidency tells volumes about what our country has become".
I would describe bernie sanders and the hildabeast as "the communist and the socialist should be felon, respectively"

Sad state of our country indeed.
I fear for the future of our country.

I'd rather the R run against the socialist. I think his platform falls apart in the general election and it takes away the women vote aspects.

But yes, the fact that either is even a candidate really indicates how far we've fallen...

My fear stems from general voter turnout on the democrat side. A lot of democrats, especially the Sanders voters, hates Hillary. And even the ones that are undecided aren't all that enthusiastic about Hillary. On the other hand, Sanders voters are excited and loyal. And if he gets the nomination, the other folks don't hate him so they will vote for him anyway. In other words, Sanders does better than Hillary amongst democrats, in the GENERAL election.

Been saying it, too many people are too focused on Hillary, just as they were in 2008 and look what that got us.

Yep. Nobody thought Obama would get the nomination, much less the presidency 8 years ago.
