Both would be in 3-9x40. Which one is the better glass?

Back up to the top for hopefully some input from somebody who has hunted with both.

I recently picked up one of each on Cabelas holiday sales, but haven't even had time to mount them yet. Not trying to start a peeing contest, but:

On the one hand, Leupold CS is legendary, but recently it seems like we get reminded of how they fix things the second time around because so many people have to use their CS.

On the other hand, there are a lot fewer Burris scopes in the field, but on the occasional need for CS, it gets praised as well. I think there was just a post in the last week or so regarding a great experience.

So back to the original question, in the field, is the glass on par, or is there a marked difference?

So, then how do they compare side by side, just looking through them? Easier to do before they are mounted anyway.

I've had great luck with both Burris and Leupold service. It Confuses me that you have both those scopes in your hands and its your eyes that will be looking through em and then you're asking us what we think?
Crack those boxes open and get those scopes set up side by side .....focus on some place that has detail. Take your time ......let
your eyes rest a little..... play with them over the course of a few days and youll have your answer....

The adjustments are not even close. Nor is the glass. The Leupold easily wins this comparison.

I suspect the lupie wins hands down on eye relief. ,

Have used both. The loopy wins in every respect.

Very much wanted the c4 to be a viable alternative, but it wasn't.

Was only a sample of one. YMMV.
