I have a new interest in 9mm CCW's and did a little research for factory ammo. It appears that Speer Gold Dot 124 gr loads and Federal Premium HST's are go to rounds.

Both are available in +P's and 124 grs.

Here is a good video on the HST's and it has follow-up videos for 124+P, 147 and 147+P.

I was able to find the HST in 50 round boxes, which is the only affordable way to buy them in quantity.

For concealed carry we go with Hornady Critical Defense all the way.

In the tests I've seen, the Hornadys are good for penetration but don't open up as well as the Gold Dots or HSTs. I'll stick with the later.

This. I prefer the Gold Dot short barrel for my snubbies and compact pistols.

Check out www.luckygunner.com click on labs and there's a test of all the 9mm ammo. I like the Corbon with the Barnes bullets or the 124 gr hst.

I would look to see if Buffalo Bore, Underwood or Cor-Bon etc offered a load with the 115 gr TAC-XP bullet from Barnes, I loaded these to 1250 fps in a short barreled Sig P239, it was a mean little sombitch for what it was.

Done a lot of farmhand type bullet testing, the ones I caught never failed to open fully, and always penetrated further than I thought it should.

Had Critical Defense 135 in the SR9c till I saw the LG tests.

Couldn't find HST 124's at the time so the Glock 19 is presently stocked with Barnes 115 TAC-XP +P.

I've got full confidence in them.

P.S. Am a big Gold Dot fan, as well. That's what all my .45's are stocked with.

I'd chrono a couple Mojo, if they are running around 1100 fps or a bit North of that I believe you can rest easy! smile

Good link, thanks. Pass me the Fed HST's. Have 250 rounds on the way.
