Bought a marlin 336A in 3030 to scratch the itch and used some of those hot hornady LE rounds. They work well. Took a buck at 220 yards with it and 3030 will do the job.
I shot two more deer with my 3006 and you can see the difference in knock down power though. I've scratched the itch for the 3030, but I will probably will default to my 3006 because I get mixed long & short shots. Just use the 3030 when I'm in chip shot stands.
Other than that, How was the show Mrs. Lincoln?

I fine-tuned a Marlin XS7 in .308 on this young GA hog: 165 TSX at 25 yards, way over penetrated. FC

Very old, NH issued civil war musket bored to smoothbore...
.615 round ball, ain't very accurate, but I can get close most of the time...
It actually went off when it needed to and put a hole in the heart of the spike.
We can keep Larry Root and all his idiotic blabber and user names on here, but we can't get Ralph back..... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over....

Jerry Thanks. I shot the coyote about an hour before the 8 point came through. I usually leave after I shoot, but maybe I should hang around more often.

6.5 SAUM with 140 vld. That's a dandy whitetail. And a good photo too. Congrats!
