Bought one today at a pawn shop. I got it out the door for $500 and it had a leupold 2.5-8 on it. I've heard good things about them for being cheap guns so I figured I'd try one. Mine is blued with a green stock and has a 22" barrel that's threaded. That makes it a predator right? I'm going to mount a 10X SWFA SS that I already have. Just need to get some 30 mm talleys or a pic base. It came with 2 pc weaver style. I'm new to the creedmore so I'll need brass and dies. I have a 260 so I have a couple bullets. Are these pretty decent guns as is or is there anything I need to do to it? It's fugly but I hope it shoots. I might buy a box or two of factory ammo to try it out.

I haven't seen a bad report on one yet and the fact you got some nice glass means you got a great deal!

Yeah about broke me in there. I spent an even $1000. Got a rem 700 243 for the action and a leupold mark AR 3-9X40 scope for another 500.

I have an RAR-Predator in 6.5 Creedmoor with a Sightron S1H 4-12x40A0 attached with Warne fixed Maximas. Very accurate with all of the Hornady and Winchester/Olin factory ammo that I've shot through it; 120 grain AMax, 129 grain SST, and 140 grain AMax from Hornady, plus the 140 grain BTHP from Winchester/Olin.
The only reload that I've shot any game with is the 123 grain AMax at 2,900+/- fps. Very accurate and 2 shot resulted in 2 tags punched.
I swapped the barreled action into a Boyd's laminated Heritage style stock. I like the ergs better, but the Boyd's laminated stock is a full pound heavier than the factory injection molded stock.
$500 out the door was a great price for that package, given that the small dealer wholesale on that rifle is currently around $345.
