Mauser 98 in .250-3000 unknown builder and barrel.
1-10 twist per the guy I bought it from.
Has Redfield windage adjustable base and redfield rings.
Stock is laminate.
Has a timney trigger at 2.5 lbs.
Barrel is 20" heavy sporter profile. Its not a full varmint but is heavier than a sporter. measures .675 at muzzle
Bluing is in good shape.
Stock is rough.
Screw heads are damaged on bottom metal but all can be used.
Has had safety changed out to a MKII low swing. Scope friendly.

Extractor seems to be weak. It will remove brass but on ejection it drops them about half way out of the receiver. Extractor does not seem to hold them tight against face of bolt.

Have gotten 1" 3 shot groups with 100 grain matchkings and 4350. Other loads using 100 gr sierras,Hornadys and Noslers and 4350 have been around 1 1/4" to 1 1/2".
Havent tried lighter bullets.

Comes with around 50 Hornady fireformed 22-250 brass. Some once fire some twice will have them seperated per # of firings.

$350.00 plus shipping from Missouri to your FFL.
Possibly trade for a 12GA 870 remington
First I take it on this post gets it.

The recoil pad is the way it came. I'll check on the cracks when I get home. The white stuff I believe is a piece of lint but I'll check later and get back with you.

Here is a picture of the splits you were asking about. It is at the top next to pad. The long line down lower is not a split or crack just a line in the laminate layer.

Ill fitting recoil pad. Was that way when I got the rifle. Im sure it can be ground to fit better.

The white stuff was not holding rear swivel in it was some kind of sticky white substance like adhesive off of tape it cleaned off with soap and water. I removed swivel stud and took picture of the hole it is threaded tight to wood. Small chip in wood at front of swivel from when hole was drilled I would guess it shows up as white in the picture.

Here is picture of buggered up rear guard screw. It did not show in my other picture it looks to of been filed to remove burrs from ill fitting screwdriver.

Not trying to pass off anything on anyone It is just a old custom job I bought off of gunbroker. Im trying to sell to put towards a shotgun purchase. Any other questions feel free to ask.
