Fine with stock tires. If you ever choose to up the diameter get a truck with 4.10 gears

I have the same truck except it is 2012 and has the 5.7 hemi. Great truck great power and my mileage is btwn 14-18 mpg. Have not regreted buying it for one minute. It pulls way better than my 6.0 2500 HD Chevy did and with better MPG.

We ended up buying a 2016 dodge laramie 2500 crew cab with the 6.4 Hemi with 3.73 gear.Looked at the diesel engine option but for $9,000 extra no way crazy.Had a 5.9 diesel engine in my 2004 dodge ram the extra cost back then was $4500.

We have a 93 Cummins, since new, and I love diesels. They have made diesels so expensive and complicated that they have lost much of their appeal. Reliability is down, due to added systems, repair costs are enormous. One needs to review the purchase of a diesel more carefully than in the past. Diesels were getting to be awesome, then the Gov. Phugged everything up.

Agreed, with only 115,000 at 12 years on my 2004 Cummins it will probably be the last truck I own. I would not buy this same dodge 2500 again today with the Cummins

I do think that the 2nd and 3rd gen's were the best diesel pickups ever made. They were pre government intervention. The 5.9 without all the emissions clutter is still the best pickup engine ever!

The maintainance costs today on new diesels in America are way to high.

I have an '08 Dodge with the 6.7 Cummins. That things a workhorse. I bought it used from a dealer. Neither the dealer or I knew at the time that it was PDF deleted. Since it's already illegal, I guess I should delete the EGR, too. At least I don't have to do a burn off every few miles but it does smoke some when I have my foot in it.
I bought it to last a long time.

The 6.4 Hemi was engineered from the get go as a true medium duty engine which is to say a very durable platform.

My Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland has the 5.7 Hemi. Took it for an oil change the other day. Service guy tells me I'm almost due for new plugs (30K miles). Yep 16 of 'em. Estimated cost $427!

My Grand Cherokee Overland will be at 60K miles its next service. I passed on the plug change at 30K- so far, it is running as good as ever, same fuel mileage, no misses, etc.

I'll go for the plug change (gulp) at 60K, I guess.

That's what I thought. If it starts fartin' or acting up, I'll get them done. Otherwise, I'll wait till 60.

Guy I work with the day his 08 hit 100k miles he ripped every piece of emissions off it and put the correct deletes, etc on. Says he picked up 7-8 MPG.
