Does anyone know when the new Browning A5 16 will be out? I am thinking a modern, well balanced 5.7 pound 16 will be about perfect for most of my hunting. Though, the 16 gauge Model 12s I often hunt are hard to improve upon!

I did not know that Browning was thinking of bringing back the A5 in 16. I have been very happy with my Remington Model 31 in 16 gage and my Winchester Model 12 in 16 gage for all my upland wing hunting.

Is it built on the new a5 action introduced a few years ago or an original àuto 5 gun?
I just googled browning it is a new A5. Nice gun but it will be interesting to see how sales go. I love the 16 but I rarely see another 16 ga in the field besides mine. I also saw something that dismayed me a bit. Visited a swanky clays and hunting venue. Noted that they forbid hunting with any gun other than a break breach gun and no 12 ga guns for quail. They quote the old safety line when I asked about the repeater ban and claimed that traditionally quail were hunted w sub gage guns. I asked where they got that info and that when I was a kid the 12 ga was used probably 5:1 by the quail hunters I knew. I suggested that they reconsider their repeater ban as I would bet they could not find any statistical data to support the safety claim and that a simple requirement to use a load of no more than 1 oz of shot no larger than 7 1/2 shot would allow a lot of nice old 12 ga sterling worths and Parkers back into the game field not to mention sweet 16 àuto 5 , ithaca 37s and model 12s all with more quail, hunting tradition than a beretta 6xx series or a citori.

Save your clams and get one of the old originals made in Belgium. Wonderful guns, and not that much more than one of the newer ones.

Shot it at SHOT and liked it with reservations... not truly a Sweet 16, quite a bit different than the original... the price is way steep... like most Brownings I did not shoot it well.
Wood was nice, but not great and the surface had long wave ripples, either very poor sanding or improperly dried wood.
Rick Bin shot it more than I did, and better. He is a big fan of the originals and was more impressed than I.
Mark Begich, Joaquin Jackson, and Heller resistance... Three huge reasons to worry about the NRA.

They are built on the new A5 frame with that inertia type system

Very interested in checking out one of these when they hit the market.
Any word on the choke tube system?? Will it be a normal invector/inv plus or will it be similar to the Invector DS??
