I purchased these at different times, but they are not far off in age. Serial numbers are 510,7XX and 555,6XX.
They are both as new.
The only wear on the case color, is from the few times I have opened them.
Will be putting a special scope mount from my new friend on the left coast on each shortly. Given they may not have ever been fired, I feel a bit bad doing anything to them, but I want them set up properly as some day, hopefully not for many more decades, I will pass and I don't want one of my unknowing loved ones drilling them.

I wouldn't touch them.. just buy a couple of shooter EG's for your unknowing loved ones and put tags on the nice ones.

COLLECTIBLE RIFLE - DO NOT ALTER!!!

grin

It's why I have 3 shooter 99T's. They can keep their paws off the collectibles I have and be happy with those.

Calhoun.. I agree. there are so many 99's out there for shooters.. as collectors we have to do our part to save to the good ones.. even if it's a mater stake.
those are real beauties.

Any ideas on the mfg date of each? I guessed at 1949 and 1952.

I have it as 1948 and 1950. First one shouldn't have a date code on the lever boss, second one should have a B.

Nice mater stakes. I have a soft place for EG's myself.
If you are going with Mike "Lightfoot" mount you won't be disappointed. I have one on my 250 and love it.

Loves factory 100 grain Win Silvertips. Shoot under 1 in. at a hundred for a three shot group. Hint: place o-ring between forearm screw and barrel.
