Any of you guys running the Mod.2s? I just bought one in 45 and looking forward to seeing what it's all about.

I bought one 2 months ago 45, cleaned but not shot yet if you believe that. So don't know a thing about them yet. This one will be for carry as soon as I get it shot several hundred times. Already in a holster ready to go.

My son in law bought a mod 2 in 40 as soon as it hit the dealers shelf.

I wear extra large gloves and have better than average hand strength. Yet, I found this pistol to be difficult to control and not pleasant to shoot with typical factory loads.

The 45 has slightly larger dimensions, and will perhaps recoil less sharply.

I hope you enjoy yours.

I'd love to hear what it's all about, if you've had a chance to wring the thing out...

I ran three 100 round boxes of hard ball through a borrowed one a few weeks back. I was impressed with the trigger, the feel, and the accuracy. Will likely own one before too long.

John, I will report back here once I get rounds through it... Likely this weekend.

Great choice on the Mod2 45 ACP!
I really like mine!
Have the Mod2 and a XD 4" Service Model both in 45 ACP.
I think the Mod2 has an improved trigger over my XD.
It`ll make one hole at 5 yards.
I got a little bored and was looking for a small target,
started shooting at and hitting the staples holding the target.
Springfield has a winner with the Mod2!

Update:

The Mod.2 goes bang every time. I'm a shiddy pistol shooter so my standards of accuracy aren't great but it seemed to be a very consistent shooter for the 50 rounds I put through it at 15ish yards. Recoil is very manageable with 230s and it obviously functioned without a hiccup or I'd have been kind of sad. Pretty excited to put more rounds through it and be a bit more proficient with it.

Try shooting some at 5-7 yards and gradually move back.
My first and only handgun for almost 30 years was a scoped TC Contender in 44 mag that I was used to shooting at 50 & 100 yds.
When I got my first 45 ACP I tried starting off at 25 yards and couldn`t hit [bleep]!
Slide on up and it will help build some confidence with your new shooter.

The handgun skills will come if you cultivate them. Glad your new springer didn't disappoint.

I ever get around to a new handgun it'll likely be the same...

Went out and shot my Mod 2 in 45. I just hate it.
Have to find a slide on sleeve, recoil is way more then my 1911.
Couldn't pull the slide back and load a round without a jam. Pinched the chit out of my hand trying to get a jam out, mag wouldn't drop. All kind of stuff. Humm-- wonder if that's why it was sold at auction.
cool

Oh yeah bro, those are uber for sure. I wanted the one in Flat Dark Earth but couldn't find it available and wanted to buy soon... Cool pistols at any rate. Need to get out and shoot mine some more.

Tanner Broosevelt, I bought an XDM last December and have shot it maybe 1/2 dozen times. It's a 3.8"(?) 9mm with the super tactical 19 round mag. Just stuck a CT453 laser on it last week, uber death to perps!

Not a pistol guy but those things are kinda fun!

Gonna try and sneak the Mod2 into the house, for some reason wife doesn't think I need another one.

The brown ones look pretty sweet, you could go full desert tactical!

OK, my problems were all operator. Rockchucker out of Missouri ran a few in it at the hog hunt. All worked just fine for him..He didn't care for it as he is a Glock guy, but it loaded and ran fine. So just me then.
I'll make sure the slide is pulled all the way back, as someone somewhere on this board suggested. If "I" don't work to my satisfaction then will trade for another Glock of some fashion or other. 45 in a very light pistol may not be for this old guy. My 1911 Colt is just fine in 45.
