Recently I've been looking through Cabela's Gun Library for left hand Sako's and Weatherby's. Not that I'm interested in another (overpriced) .300, but I would never have seen that particular rifle since the idiots failed to put "left" in the item description. And for $1600 I would expect at least SOME bluing on the bolt knob . Rant over. Carry on.

I would agree. Dundee is in our backyard so we might go take a look at that one

Not a .300, a little better and going relatively cheap. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=540873529*edit* strike that, WAS going cheap

That 338 is a damn nice rifle. Looks like it sold for close to $2,000.00. I'd take one of those over a pos 300 win mag any day of the week. They've had a model 70 300 win mag for sale here locally for about 2 years now. I think the price tag is down to $800.00 now and it includes another left hand stock.... The 338 and 30-06 are much more popular around here, so the 300 just sits on the shelf..
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

That sako is a nice rifle, but the position of the safety looks fu cked up for a lefty...

... That sako is a nice rifle, but the position of the safety looks fu cked up for a lefty... As a Lefty who shot RH rifles for a number of years, the RH safeties on the LH Sako's/MRI's has never been a problem for me. In some respects, it is actually "easier" in that position since it requires less thumb movement to reach the safety to push it forward. JMO. YMMV.

Safety locations on LH actions are all over the map. You adjust. The safety on the LH Sako isn't an issue.

Good buy on a LH M70 .300 WSM in the classifieds. In your "backyard" also.

Rob, I might have something he is looking for, send me your email and I can send pics and details to you if your interested. Hntelk gmail.com It's a left hand Trued remmy , barrel #3 contour, 1:10, braked, spiral fluted pattern on barrel, also on action bolt to match, cerakoted FDE, mcmillian hunters edge stock, jewel trigger 2 lbs, it's a BDL, but I stole this bdl metal and used for another build. Around 200 rounds and is 1/2 MOA gun.
